Yellow | YRCF Vandalism!

If that is the Company's position then fine! Have some sort of work rule change with the Union. But no double standards! Notice the crickets churping when it comes to us using our personal phones to call in with hot loads, Breakdowns, Railyards? Or in P&D calling when the dispatcher needs to change your next pickup in a hurry and your in traffic?
Either we use the damn phones or we don't! Both for our benifit AND the Company's!
I can see it now! Someone getting 4 extra hours breakdown because they can't use their personal phone to call in! (Remember, Double standard!)
Wonder what Management will do then?

Does Hawkins realize that the company NEEDS our phones more than we do?

For instance:
Go to a rail yard and try to find a pay phone.

Guess who calls us when coming in with a "hot load".

Go to a terminal or a customer with no map available. Dispatcher says "use your GPS". Guess where they are!

Most of all, when we break down and nobody stops to check on us, are we to start walking to a truckstop for help?

Yep, phones are bad. Somebody better tell the dispatchers and TM's.

GOOD REPLY...Yeah, quit calling us on the road trying to re-route us because you sent 3 drivers with empties to get 2 loads on a via...OR, you are trying to call us to stop by and pick up loads en-route wile you were originally told to bring the empties to the fuel lanes, OR you are in the middle of receiving instructions at a dark terminal and your battery goes dead on your cellphone and you have NO way to charge it because the USB port is removed!......YES, maybe we should all go back to the old school ways and just call in on a pay phone at a rest area (If you can find one).....This is so damned stupid....punish the 98% who do things right because 2% cannot.....KK

"By the Book" works both ways Kid!!

Well.... I am just a lowly lumper on the dock. I don't drive.
But one way I see is to just shut your phone off. You pay the bill. Don't use it for work. Don't let them call you on it and don't call them on it.
Back to just follow instructions when you leave. Even though I am just dock they still do not have my cell number. Land line and a recorder. That's all they can use. I know I will get blasted... But it's your phone and they benefit from it and don't pay the phone bill. Tough ::shit:: if they cannot get ahold of you on the road!

I used the stereo output jack but looks like they hot glued that I just had Volvo and neither where done with glue ran music thru stereo was nice drown out beep ing lol

Darren Hawkins confirms that hot gluing the USB ports is done by YRCF. Broken display for the collision avoidance radar was not. But may have been accidental.
11525 a Freightliner had only 23,000 miles.
The logic behind "VANDALIZING" the stereo is YRCF doesn't want us talking, texting, using smartphones or headphones while driving.
Never mind that with a USB port we could listen to audio books, podcasts, our own music, etc. ON THE IN CAB SPEAKERS. HANDS FREE!
The deplorable lack of understanding of technology is UNBELEIVABLE!

What's a new truck? Are they white in color? I see them going down the road but haven't driven one, I heard they are only to be used by employees that are on the clock or going to the rail.
If you took all the cost of that add on crap, I wonder how many more new trucks there would be?
Why would an Union member ever answer a phone for a "hot load", it's against company policy.

Hawkins must not know how this company operates, you get dispatched, few hrs. later, dispatch calls with a
change and then they tell you to call 2 hrs. out before you reach the terminal. It's normally on my dispatch to
call 2 hrs. before I get there! Never had to do this before the merge, no one ever called me and constantly changed
my dispatch!!

Someone told me that xm radios in the new trucks.Only have a minimal amount of xm chanels.kind of like the demo channels.i didn't really think the company was going to have the full subscription channel lineup.
