A Family in Need

For 25 years, David Messmer has been a hard-working member of the YRC Freight family. As a driver in Phoenix, David stuck by us when things looked bleak for the company. He has won his class in the Arizona Truck Driving Championships five times.

Now, the Messmer family is facing a real-life challenge that puts work into perspective, and it’s our turn to help. David, a loving husband and father of two, is battling brain cancer. David’s battle has included multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments.

David can no longer work now.

David’s wife, Tricia, is a stay-at-home mom who homeschools their daughters, Kylee and Megan. David is no longer able to work, and the family is in need of some assistance to help with the cost of treatments.

YRC Freight Phoenix employees, as well as some other trucking companies from the area, are hosting a fundraiser for the Messmer family this Saturday, April 11. In addition, they have set up a GoFundMe page, where anyone can donate. http://www.gofundme.com/8bpjv8 or Google David Messmer GoFundMe.

We know not everyone is in a financial position to donate, but if you are able, please consider helping David, Tricia, and the girls. This might be our final opportunity to let Dave know how much he and his family mean to us. Please help us ease their financial worries so they can focus on healing and spending time with each other.

The Messmer’s are fighting a hard battle. They are family. Let’s join them in the fight.

I remember meeting Dave and his family many years ago. Outstanding husband and father, great driver and role model to many. Parayers for him and his family.

That's terrible.
I hope all that can donate will.
A few bucks from all would add up quickly.
I will donate. I hope you will too. We have to take care of our brothers the best we can. Send a buck or two. It will make you feel good that you can help. And they made it simple to donate.
I was out nine months and the guys took up a pot for me.
I was overwhelmed with it. It was a simple gesture and meant so much to me. I know the feeling. Please help if you can.
