First I will start off by saying I've been a paying member of the Teamster for a 11 years.sure it's not long but I wanted a better future for me and my familyso since I've been in the union I've been lied to and stole from by my union leadership. Two pay cuts, 75% pension cut penalize you every year if you retire before 65 and now they want to cut the pension by 30% more and from what I can tell they still owe the same amount of debt.It took the employees to vote a union in it's going to take the employees to demand a better way life! :1904:
 
agree and something to think about is that union people and yrc management people and pension Trustees and Nyhan are all still at FULL PAY and FULL PENSION ???? why does only the Driver's have to take all the pay & pension cuts to try & save this yellow pig ??? WHY is that ???????

Hoffas up for reelection next year. Something to think about anyway.
 
I can't understand why some just complain about this company and the union most of the complainers have never been to a meeting or get involved in the union. As a Stewart I have found runaround for members and will not collect they deal it away my time wasted. My advice quit complaining and move on

As a stewart you should probably know the position is called a steward.

Rodeo, I'm just playing the Devil's Advocate here. Let's say that Tim Sylvester and his Slate gets elected. How long will it take for the Members to turn on them, if your full Pension, Wages, Vacation weeks and shiny new Equip. isn't purchased ? Will he work for 15 % less money, 25 % Pension contributions and one week vacation reduction until he can restore everything you outline ? I'm just wondering.

As a former steward, I can recount many instances of members who had valid grievances. But chose not to pursue them, opting instead to ignore the violation in return for preferential treatment on a different issue. AND want the steward to make the deal for them!

Lucky for the deal seeking member they had a deal making steward to close the deal for them . I'm sure your grandkids will thank you as they enter a deal driven workforce.

There are times a good steward makes a deal to keep the Teamster from losing. Losing the grievance, losing his job, losing pay or all sorts of things. Would you rather sit at home in a protracted drawn out JAC and probably lose, or back at work with a short suspension and a warning? sure, no deals, ever- I see....
