What's the best way for someone with less than a year of driving experience to get their foot in the door at UPSF? Truckload? Dockworker with CDL? Or do I need to get more experience somewhere else? And can anyone tell me how much UPSF Truckload pays newer drivers? Thank you, everyone.

With less than a year apply for everything and see what happens. Don't waste your time with the truckload jobs you see posted they don't pay very well. You very well may land something with the Dockworker position with CDL. From there you can always get some time with the truck. Good luck.

Oh, something I meant to ask before. I see on other UPSF threads where guys are saying that they're only working a couple days a week. As a new guy, how much of a struggle will it be to get 40 hours? I'd be applying to the Columbus, OH terminal.

Unless the rare hired right time, right place expect to give a pound of flesh to get to forty hour weeks consistently with less than forty hours a week more the norm after summer vacations. You REALLY have to want UPSF to endure it.....oh and a understanding and supportive wife/girlfriend if you share bills is a must LOL. I also hired right out of driving school with no experience with dock/cdl and was on the street in 6mo. Best way to go unless hired to drive. Great place to work if you can hack beginning low man crap. GL and hope your experience is not the norm if you choose us.
