No wonder RL is losing drivers, other companies offer good retirement plans, steady runs where they don't sit and wait 2-3 hrs a day giving up to 20 hours or more a week of time w/o pay, then look what's sitting at the dock doors where the money runs are, all outside carriers! But they don't pull doubles or hazmat that's left up to RL employees to do and get paid nothing extra.

It would be nice if they cared but they have lowered the standard for drivers. So next driver up even if his record sucks.

They bid run no more put new people on them employee who's have been here work night shift can get a morning shift because they say u r hire for night time but new people run day shift . I no a lot employees r get ready jump ship

A lot of terminals have decided to only post runs when they feel like it. If a friend of theirs wants the run no matter seniority they will give it to them and if you say something about it you are deemed a whiner.
Another reason why people have left

R&L is losing alot of drivers to Walmart. I left R&L 3 years ago, after working there for 18 years.. Best decision I ever made. 3 drivers out of the Knoxville terminal alone, have left for Wally. Several more drivers I know of are applying. R&L is glad to get rid of long term safe drivers. Walmart is happy to hire them. First year drivers average 82K here. Great equipment. Treated with respect.

We have some idiot here that TWO of the guys that have been named "trainers" spent a MONTH with him EACH. BOTH said do NOT hire this guy. They did anyway.

So now we have yet another linehaul drone who turns a run that should only take 8 hrs in 12 hrs.

We have that issue here at our barn too. A 12 year guy just left for the same reason.

Someone retired from a 6:30 am start, and one of our dispatchers who thinks he runs the place decided he was gonna give that early start to one of his suck boys so that driver can go to his son's school functions during the day. The long timer pitched a fit, so they posted it. Of course, when he took the run over he was getting TWICE the deliveries the retiree had. The run was set up strictly to accomodate a truck load pickup at a place that closes early. Funny how he never finished there much.

Our terminal is never Screwed with. Top guy get new trucks trailer Bid is put up as they come open. We have ***** free for years . Wilmington have got involved when drivers requested they make a call on a dispute. Have ruled fair. Drivers win more then the lose. Jerry Davis in LA. Backs drives more then the shop. Truck not fixed in three days call him
