How's it going to all my fellow Truckers, new to the site and forum boards. Im here to seek the advice and wisdom from all the truckers who have done it before me. I just got hired at Sysco Boston, im 24 years old and have 6 mos. Experience, just wondering what to expect. I worked for J.Polep running 28ft. Multi temp trailers. Theyre a local distributor here in RI To gas stations. Conv. Stores and mom and pop shops.Im no stranger to hard work. Just hoping to get some advice. Thanks in advance.

I'm new to all the grocery shuttles but I have an interview with Ben e Keith here in Ft Worth, TX and was wondering if this position pays good or is it a waste of time? I've seen them at night mainly running. I come from a loonnnnng stint of hauling hazmat tankers and grew bored of it and wanted a change.

Not sure what BEK pays, here in OK we are union and get paid by the hour, I make really good money, in a non-union house I would make much less, I work for Sysco BTW, BEK here is non-union, I have never had the chance to ask one of the guys how they do.

Wow that's crazy as big as we are and everyone here is scared of unions. Fedex freight just voted down a union a couple months ago
Yea, Fedex votes it in some barns and others they don't want anything to do with it, to be honest with you, I wouldn't work for Sysco in a non union house, I know to much about how they operate, union is the way to go at Sysco, for instance at our house on shuttle we are paid by the hour, plus a premium for pulling long sets and triples, if I worked for a non union house I could kiss 500 bucks a week good bye, thats the difference from getting paid by the hour or by the trip.

Yall pull triples in OK
Yes, in OK we can pull triples as long as they are pups and we pull long sets, for instance 2 42' or 2 36' or 42' and 36' ect., we would be in bad shape here if OK ever changes that law, we would have to have a bunch more people and we can't hire anyone hardly as it is!
