ODFL | 2015 wage meeting

For some of the questions about will i get the raise ...here's what i remember. I started in an August. When the company wide raise came down in September I received the amount of that raise added to my starting rate. Pretty sure this is still the same, and applies as long as you're over 30 days. This was nice my first couple of years getting my regular increase followed by the company wide. Felt like Christmas lol
Me to. I got hired late July and did get the raise in September. I never even asked anybody, it just showed up like everybody else

It's been reported by some gbo drivers that there was a bump in drop and hook pAy Nothing was spoke or put on the flip papers at the meeting so I'm assuming not. Just wondering if anyone else has heard

No.just hear say.Insurance went up.Wondering if that got turned into drop&hook increase.Wage meeting in Gbo today. But,City Drivers were not invited today.lol..Ours in the morning.

That's the way it works. Foreign power gets out before extraboard from domicile. Hell that's the way it works at unionized carriers as well. As far as I know schedules are the only guys that get freight before foreign power.

Hey thats NOT the way it works ANYMORE ... All hub terminals that have staffed up these last few years will run ALL of THEIR extra drivers and give the drivers in the motel what is left over which most often is the CRAPPY stuff ... that is what forced me out of running wild ... DAL IND and HAR are perfect examples of this ...

Don't know about HAR... Only been there once and it was on a team truck. Never had any problems in IND. DAL has been playing that silly game ever since I've been here...

IND has all of its extra board drivers grouped into morning and evening groups ... they all call in every day to get their runs ... whats left over is then offered to the foreign drivers in the motel ... want to take a guess as to who gets the 600+ mile runs and then who gets the to Chicago runs (192 miles) and sent to places outside of turn range (370 miles etc) ... ???

I would guess you. I've gotten good out of there every time I'm there, and usually I'm headed home from there anyway. Easy to get ATL out of there.

Have not heard about any increase on drop/hook/fuel. Would be nice though.

Any other terminal getting new pt dock workers hired? From what i hear theyre hiring more to get the drivers off the dock. Whats the point of the raise then turn around and take it back by taking our opportunity to make more cause the dock?

And besides if you get to CHI you go in and tell them how many hours you have left and keep on rolling. They run a lot of STL out of there (300 miles) so there's 492 and if you run to CBM from there that's another 100 so you got 592 for the day and a bunch of drops and hooks. Good pay day even if you gotta work for it.

I'm gonna guess OT after 45 is coming. Saia and Estes I'm pretty sure went ot after 45 this year! Saia is now at .60 per mile. Od will boost us just above the rest to keep there drivers from jumping ship!
Estes is still OT at 55 hours, terminal manager gives dispatch the list on Friday morning with the names and what time they need to be off the clock

Any raise is good yet basically a cost of living, anything 4 percent or less is normal/standard, with profit/or double the closet competitor most expected more, especially since drop and hook been frozen for 10 yrs. just grumbling through out system, the way holidays were handled last year still has left hard feelings. Every road driver worked or on call, then cancelled 1/2 the runs the next 2 days. I don't have a life, work 1/2 the weekends and holidays, just that if you truly want family attitude, corp has to lead by example. Order your people to work, yet take off, close offices, leads to ill atitudes
