TForce | Hoffa's VP runs against him

There will be a second consecutive three ring circus at next June's Teamsters convention. That's because one of Hoffa's vice presidents has decided to run against Hoffa for Hoffa's job! And in the meantime, that man can't be fired by Hoffa because he was elected, not appointed. So he still attends General Executive Board meetings, with Hoffa and the rest of his buddies in the same room :)

Current IBT Vice President at Large Al Mixon will try to get the necessary 86 or so minimum amount of delegates to vote for him at the convention to get Al's name on the ballots later that year.

I am most certainly still a Teamsters United supporter. Al running doesn't hurt Teamsters United, but Al will take some delegates that Hoffa would have gotten, so maybe the decibel levels at the convention will be a tad lower.

We will know by the end of June if Al himself gets his name on the ballots for all Teamsters to vote on. I don't know if Al will have some fellow slate members by the convention. His website is pretty worthless. It has about the same amount of information that Hoffa's does—almost nothing.

Ya right, then Hoffa can work for him
No, Mixon and Hoffa had some huge disagreement in the last few months about something unknown to me. In the extremely unlikely event that Mixon would win, Hoffa, who would be 2 months short of turning 76 years old when the current five year term ends in March of 2017, would retire.

No, it's not a ploy, a plot, or a plan to keep Mr. Useless in Hoffice. Mixon wants to smack Hoffa down by taking Hoffa's job.

I highly doubt that Mixon will be able to get at least 85 delegates at the June of 2016 Teamsters convention to vote for him, so that Mixon's name will be allowed to appear on the ballots in October of 2016 for all Teamsters to vote on. But if Mixon somehow did, he would get votes that would have gone to Hoffa, making it a little more likely that Tim Sylvester will win the election for General President.

The rules and laws have changed immensely.

The nice thing about Hoffa Sr. He had his own set of rules and laws. Had Mr. Hoffa lived, you would have never seen "De-Regulation" . He would have shut this country down before he would have allowed this to come about. One reason for his disappearance.

Vote for the TDU candidates Hoffa ploy of divide and conquer has worked to many times. This clown and his cronies have gotta go!!!

No, he would get the anti-hoffa votes which he would split with Sylvester. Ensuring a Hoffa win. Just like Gegare did last election.

I have heard Tim Sylvester talked about here and there, but I don't know anything about him. Is he the solution or just a better alternative?

5tolls be your own man do your research. Personally I support Sylvester. Hoffa must go and yes I think it's a ploy to split the vote. Ken Hall has run aganist Hoffa how many times? Yet they're still chumy. But we also need change at the local level most ba's are ball less weasles.

I don't know much bout him as well but his running mate Zukerman I think that's his name. What he has done for the men and women in Louisville. I would vote for him any day.

Your post makes you sound kind of like a tool, maybe I misinterpreted what you said. I thought I was doing my research by asking the guys on here what they thought about the guy. It's kind of like asking a question when you are riding in the van to the motel, it's where I find out some of my best information. What the hell does "be your own man" mean anyway? I know guys are kind of edgy on here right now with the pension deal, but don't be a jerk to your brothers who are looking for the same results you are.

Zukerman was the one who had the guys go stand by the road when they brought the straight trucks into the Holland terminal in Louisville, isn't he?
