Sort of like the info of yours regarding LRI I searched out the other day that turned out to really say nothing about the topic at hand?

You didn't even know that info was public knowledge. I fumbled but the point picked up my fumble and ran with it. I went back and read all of your posts don't think your even a driver from your own perspective "you said im an old trucking guy in charge of other trucking guys". So what part of management you in? I also noticed your only posts are about the union debate very interesting.

That link says our overall budget in 08 was 406 million on advertising and UPS is 106.7 million. I don't get it lol you proved my point.

Apparently you didn't get it......

You might want to re-read it.......

unfortunately it doesn't give an overall total spend for UPS like it does for fedex, but in the area being discussed (b2b advertising) UPS was 10th, with 106 million spend and fedex was 14th at like 67 million

With the deductive reasoning skills you have repeatedly shown, you should be able to figure all that out in no time....

So that info is incomplete what is the point? UPS spent more on tv and magazines when you find the total's for their complete advertising budget that would make for a better debate.

Ok so prove me wrong then, it should be easy for a man of your intelligence level.

Ok CT you have been going on about the amount of money the company spends on advertising. Let's say YOU were in charge of advertising were would you spend your money? Would you spend it on the side of a rail car that runs though the country side in the dark? Or on a race team, football stadium ect. that millions of people can relate to.

I would cut the amount we spend by 75 percent, our product sells itself no need to spend all the money we do. We are an established company, do you really think our business would suffer if we didn't spend 400 or 500 million a year on advertising.

Interesting theory.......

I am guessing that the tens of thousands of sales folks we have worldwide might beg to differ in the whole selling itself thing though....

Im sure they would because that's their job. I am talking about advertising though not sales.

Ok you will cut by 75% that will leave you roughly 25 million for and advertising budget. On that lets look at what an ad cost. If I remember correctly last year a super bowl ad was about 25-30 for a 30 second spot. So now you have used up all your money in one night what you going to do the rest of the year. Also never said what you would spend the savings on.

I think your math is a little off, from aflifer's link our advertising budget in 08 was 406 million if you cut that by 75% that leaves One hundred one million five hundred thousand. I would reinvest it in company, can't go wrong buying equipment and helping your own employees out who make the company all this money.

I'd like to file a motion that you direct a small portion of that savings into bringing the FXFE city driver vacation benefit up to par with the road driver vacation benefit. Cost? Around 8.6 mil (between 1 and 2 tenths of 1 percent of the total budget). Can you spare it?

Thanks in advance CT, for considering it. :1036316054:
