VOTE NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are retired voting no would keep your checks big, but if you vote no and you are still working for five or ten years isn't that just going to make it so you don't get anything when you retire because the old guys will have used it all up? Or am I missing something?

The old guys fulfilled there obligation. Can't help the fact that us baby boomers are getting the short end of the stick on most everything.

I wish that this pension problem was like the Social Security problem, and they were just complaining about the money shortage, but somehow it will always be funded. Unfortunately......I don't think that that's the case with our pension funds.
Adjustments and changes to the fund should have been made to keep it solvent many years ago.......but they did nothing to protect it.
To call it **** poor leadership would be a gross understatement.

the younger or middle aged guys haven't fulfilled their obligation? I believe there are guys working who have done more to fulfill their obligation then some of the guys sitting at home, especially the ones who use to get thirty and out. By the way I am not including myself in that, I am thinking more of the guys at my barn who are sixty, sixty five or even up around seventy and still putting on five plus hundred miles a night. I am just a young man of fifty six years old and have only been a driver for a little over thirty years so I do not feel quite experienced enough to be included in that list.

And some don't know when to retire! When I left I worked with a guy that was 76 and still working 60 hrs a week.

with the driver shortage, and the pension money shortage, if he likes coming to work, good for him. last id heard, a lot of older guys kick the bucket after retirement, even if they hated their job. it gives you something to do, and people to talk to, at least.

Well......I finally opened up my latest pension letter. It had been laying on the table since about Wednesday. I wasn't in a hurry to open it because based on what some of you had posted, I knew that it was going to be bad news. Well it was.
My pension has been cut by 2/3. That's right.......2/3 of the pension that I had been banking on for the future is gone, effective January 1st. Luckily, I predicted this would be the end result about 6 years ago, so I made adjustments to my future plans, but the reality of the situation has now become official. This was just like getting a kick in the bag.
If I posted my true thoughts about Central States and the Union leadership on this issue, it would all get filtered, but damn........I'm steaming.
******* thieves!

They probably know which guys really don't need the money and take a little extra from them....if it makes you feel any better you win for the largest percentage that anyone has posted on here!

I do post on occasion. lol

But my posts don't pay worth a damn.

I was counting on that pension that I earned.

Flash, that is what really burns me too. The pension benefit we were to receive was not a gift,we earned it,BOUGHT IT AND PAID FOR IT with deferred wages that were a negotiated part of our hourly wage. I get ill when the fat cats talk about our entitlements that we bought and paid for, social security included. Matters not if you are a so called orphan, your retirement was bought and paid for while you were employed and now stolen by the gangsters and thieves who run the CS fund and the government.

I was told many years ago by our BA "you're guaranteed a pension not an amount".

Then the Union shouldn't have been using the 30 and out and 30 years/3,000k per month as an advertising tool either. They might as well face it......they :censored: over their members with incompetence and failure to correct the problem years ago.
I told my wife several years ago that this would be the end result, so if a dumb truck driver can figure it out, why couldn't these high paid pukes figure it out?

You can't keep writing checks out of your account when you don't have enough money getting deposited back into the account to cover it. Yet they made no adjustments over the years. Just bend over and enjoy.

that is correct however the monetary amount per hour towards your pension was a negotiated part of your wage and benefit package.
Exactly, and we expected it to still be there, but now it isn't.
Well I'm just happy to see that the :censored: thieves got to go to Hawaii for their big conference before this big :2437:was announced.

Bastards.

In one way you right but in another your wrong. The day we retired we sign a contract that said you will draw this much a month for as long as you live In the NMFA before any changes is enacted you have meeting and have a vote on it and it needs to be the same way with Central States and not force it on us.I bet you scream like a **** ape if the government said no union line had to honor NMFA. they can pay everyone the way they want too cut your wages they feels is best for them and no two people draw the same and that what their doing to us.

I'm not the one that said it

I haven't received my letter, maybe today. The fact is that we are all in the same boat. Let us give them a big bonus for getting us to this point faster than we expected. Yes that " Best Contract Ever." has really worked out to our benefit. The pension is as good as gone...just hang a pad lock on the gate and turn the lights out.! Every October it seems we need to give something else......! If I posted my true thoughts on this topic....I would be banned.!
