Yellow | How many Driver's will move on now after these $$ cuts ?

I was referring to parcel not freight. I believe parcel is 175/ mo.
Outside of those who used to be in the CSPF Parcel is still in the Teamsters' funds and I believe that they pay in more than those of us working in freight. They are all subject to the same multipliers that we are but since more money is contributed on their behalf they receive more.

At the soon to be accrual rate of .75% on the $70.00 per week YRC pays into the fund, a new hire will have a pension of $270.00 in 10 years....good luck on keeping those new hires that long.....just sayin'.....KK
I just told one of the new combo guys at our place he would be stepping into my 2000 Volvo in 5 more years when I get out of it!!!!

They bought their way out of Cspf. If you start there today you'll be in ups own fund not Cspf. Of course you'll be starting over, but 1750 for 10 years ain't bad, neither is 875 for 5 years.

The pension was a big part of the reason I went to work at Yrc. It's a miserable, unsafe, confrontational place to work. If the pension was strong I could have dealt with it. So , yeah, two years of my life was enough. I voted no both times with the last mou. To be honest even if the pension was strong I would never consider going back. I truly feel bad for those who have spent thirty years of their life under these conditions only to be in a helpless posistion at this point,a lot of very good men. Perfect driving record, hard working, competent, educated, experienced, reliable, couldn't dumb myself down anymore . I the only ones your left with are those who are too old to move on, fresh driving school grads and shiny wheels.

Oh and p.s. Utmost respect for mr. Kelder!

My buddies brother is a trainer there and talks a lot of positive things about Wally World, but I spent so many years in a sleeper that I just don't think I could go back to that this late in life. It also bothered me when he told me that even though I live just fifteen minutes from a distribution center he said they frown upon you going home when you have your ten hour break there. It is like what difference does it make to them if I am sitting in the truck on their property or run home to my own bed and kitchen and bathroom?

They do not have trainers, they have mentors that are just regular drivers that will ride with a new hire for a week or 2. They are put up in motels every night (and nice ones) by Walmart, and paid their ADP while doing so.

They prefer that you sleep in the truck for 2 reasons. One, they pay you $42 a night to do so. Some "smart" drivers in the past have gone home while still collecting the $42 a night. That is stealing. Second, it is more likely that you will be off longer than the 10 hours when you go home. Not a big deal when it isn't crazy busy, but a big deal when it is. Hiring outside carriers costs Walmart more money than using their own fleet. They will never give you a hassle for going home, however.

Do your job, and they are pretty hands off. Short of walking into the DC to get your trip sheets, you rarely have to deal with anyone. Also, their 401K has a full company match up to 6%.
