Yellow | Another COO!! Major shakeup to the system?

Haven't heard anything, but that sounds like doing a change now while we're slow would make too much sense. I have heard though, Conway is sending a bunch of their reject managers that got canned in the XPO acquisition our way. That's something to look forward to. We're building a supergroup of f***tards to screw this company up even more. Conway had a lot of cutting edge ways to waste money that i'm sure Yrc cant wait to learn, like cameras in every tractor, and they spent 50 million on some gadget that would monitor their drivers shifting, and we'll probably move the crank handle for the trailer dollies to the other side of the trailer. Never figured that one out why they put it on the passenger side?
I just read where Con-Way just laid off a ton of dock workers with more to come. They now are saying that is a good thing because the dock workers were terrible at their job. Doesn't take long for the inmates to turn on one another. They will not face the reality that this "buyout" came just when the economy is tanking ( I know fellows, this sounds all too familiar ) and their new owner just keeps piling on more debt. They also blamed mgmt. for the bad job the dock workers did. Enough blame to go around everywhere.

That there is a trailer that chose not to have landing gear at all!
Thurston cut down many 48 foot trls. to 34 feet to use in the city. Every time you overloaded one in the nose, the rear would fly up and hit the top of the dock. I had to back a forklift up once inside of one of these after tipping it, to bring it back down. I liked to have crapped my pants full.

When does mandatory electronic logging take affect? That will trigger a coo for sure. Everything will be reduced to less than 500 miles. Or not.

I had 13 years at Thurston Volnuck. I also remember them adding to the rear of the trailer when 48's became legal.

Roadway stretched most of their 45' trailers to 48', when 48 foot trailers became legal.

And now turning old pups into snow plows ...

Ted, who designed that? Otter? :tr10driving03:
That's the new "snow lane" @ 304. The added option attached was designed by Country Boy Welding of Van Orin....Although the mechanics did the spray paint " tagging" !!!!

I heard that all St. Paul drivers have to do a via through here this winter to utilize this important safety item!!!!

And when you do come in make sure you stop in the break room and buy a square on the tip board as to what date you think the whole thing will break off the trailer and hit the ground. Tips are only a buck!!! You could win a hundred $$$$

It really doesn't look like a bad idea. Particularly if it's heavy enough to handle the heavy snows and ice that lays on the lid. I have seen a genuine hard mounted device that probably cost $10,000 or more and is permanently stuck there in the way.

We have one at 158 attached to an old van. The problem with it is you have to go through it 3-4 time as the snow piles up and goes over the top of the plow.
