XPO | Rumors

Our salesman had a meeting with the city drivers this past week. The only really interesting angle on things was about vacations.

Said XPO has a less generous vacation plan than Con-Way does/did and that he, the XPO fella, wants to make Vacation benefits equitable. Which, if it were to happen, either we lose or they gain.

No, I don't know the differences in the two companies. Just another rumor.

Are the three C's going away...Coffee, Cake and Cookouts??? Got the latest scuttlebutt from one of our L/H drivers this morning that these perks are going the way of the dinosaur real quick. He was told, I assume from a credible xpo source, that "when your coffee runs out at your barn, that's it, we ain't buying anymore." Also heard that several guys recently retired and they only got a hand shake, thanks for your years and that was it. No big retirement party...No cake , No remembrance gift, No plaque ect. The only thing that our guy didn't say that was chopped concerning these perks was the elimination of our cookouts. Well, I suppose those will be next. Mr.Jacobs did say that he was gonna cut costs. Apparently he's a man of his word. I don't drink coffee...so I'm not sweating that one. I never much cared for the cookouts...cause I always wanted to go home and eat supper w/ my family. But to deprive me of a retirement party, cake, etc. after enduring this place going on 22 years now...that just outrageous!!!

Those bastards!!! What terminal you out of V? I will bring a box of Twinkies over when the time comes....

When the coffe stops watch production drop like a rock. No coffee is like no diesel, the transportion industry cannot run without it. I would not believe everything you hear. I have heard that all non essential spending is being cut off until the end of the year. Coffee is ABSOLUTELY essential.
No free coffee at my barn ever...

I have a feeling that XPO will lose money on that idea. Most drivers that drink coffee will just stop at a conv. store or truck stop, and typically, that will take much longer than it would have at a terminal.
No coffee, no drive.

Sounds worse then a union barn.... Still receive a cake & retirement gift from Abf along with a decent xmas spread....Not to mention the collection the drivers take up for him....

Us union guys have learned that if you give the big man a ten million dollar a year bonus for five or six years you can get a twenty dollar ham for Christmas....just saying you might want to try it.

Is this what us drivers of America are reduced to? Coffee, cake, and ham? If private or teamster labor doesn't satisfy us what will?
