Estes | pay raises

Just spoke to the Assistant TM at my barn. He says they re-hubbed everything with a "new system." Something to do with PeopleNet and the upcoming automated payroll so the lady doesn't have to input everyone's mileage at the end of the week.

He said that if the mileage is indeed wrong, hub it and turn it in and they'll submit it to be fixed.

No need to freak out. Let's all just try to get paid for what we do.

It's just the initial blow. Nobody seems to be worried about it at my barn. They all know they've been getting paid for what they haven't been doing for years. Even the cut miles on my run is still more than it actually is.

I always kind of figured the overpaid mileage was sort of a wash since we don't get paid for sitting and waiting at terminals for hours throughout the year. I'm sure we all still come out short even with the few extra miles here and there.

From my small bit of experience on the extra board here, I find that most of the mileage listings in my mileage chart are pretty much spot on. Every now and again I will be short or over a few here and there. I have noticed the paid routes are generous and practical for a truck. This article posted last night at a terminal indicates that if the mileage is off they will try to make amends.

This is all well and good but how does the same run pay different miles depending on what day of the week it is? I noticed this a.m. that some of the bids pay one thing Monday through Thursday and pay something else on Friday. I still don't understand why these companies are making this job so much harder than it has to be.

I would guess the first 2 rounds are lay downs with a Friday night meet and the meet point round is more or less miles.

No, I noticed schedules going to the same terminal and back 5 days a week paying new lesser mileage Monday through Thursday, paying old mileage on Friday.

Disregard my earlier reply. I didn't read properly before I posted. Apologies.

My guess is they rushed through the process and didn't update all the mileages properly. We have spots for "Friday miles" on turns. Those spots are normally supposed to be for the laydowns that meet on Friday.

We've got 85+ runs total at my barn. Mistakes are bound to happen since they all get sent over from Richmond. We had a halfway schedule cancel but they still have it posted at the other terminal. Wonder who that guy is going to meet? Ha

I hope this is just a glitch in the new system. I can see correcting a run a few miles if it over pays.
But they knocked off almost 40 miles from GBO to INDY..thats a 10 1/2 -11 hr run, depending on which way you go.
Keep the raise, and pay me the old route,I'll make more money that way.

It would be great if all breaks turned into Hubs and everyone could turn every night. I am sure that everyone does not agree with this, but I will throw it out there for comments.
