    http://freebeacon.com/issues/30-businesses-say-eliminate-jobs-result-15-minimum-wage/

Most rational thinking people know this, but it is a nice feel good issue
Any increase in pay would be destroyed by increases in price and inflation

Yep. But try to tell that to those without a lick of business knowledge or common sense.
    Good luck with that.

Every time we have had the minimum wage argument in America we always hear it will destroy jobs, destroy the economy.
But we can remember that those predictions never came to pass.
I realize that if what you see as unskilled workers suddenly are paid $15 an hour that they close the gap on your pay rate.
But that ought to show you how far behind your pay rate really is.
So don't blame the struggling minimum wage workers for that, blame yourselves.

So if our wages go up but so does the prices of the products that we buy......do we gain anything?
    NO.

I've told you before,.......jobs, labor, and the economy are off limits to you joining in on the conversation.

If raising the minimum wage cost jobs, then we should go back say to the early 50s, I started working when the minimum wage was 0.78 hr. I wonder how many drivers here would turn down a raise in pay and just say, "no boss, by you giving me a raise, it will cost jobs". What moron would even believe this lie from the Republicans? I wonder who could be so dumb.

Not me. I'll take a 100% raise and tell the boss that only I should get it. There...I feel so smart.

This pay raise is not based on skill or merit, it is purely arbitrary
It is not based on market forces or demand

Lol. I've seen some pretty dumb truck drivers so I wouldn't want to base my pay on that average!

It's about the "profit margin". For the record I don't agree with a jump in the minimum wage to $15 an hour but I also don't think the price will increase dramatically. The product being sold will bring what the consumer is willing to pay. We are all aware of the insane profits Wal-mart makes so how did that happen at the expense of the American worker. Let's say a shirt being sold at Wally World has a price tag of $20. At one time the product was made and sold here in the U.S. and Wally made a respectable profit say 20% or $4.00. Then big money (Globalists) were allowed to exploit people including children to make this shirt and the profit margin is now 60% or $12.00. So the shirt might go up a little but no more than the market will tolerate and the profit margin might be less.

I just want to be clear given how much the cost of living has increased maybe a little bump is in order. Over 100% increase is just stupid‼️

If anyone is like me they will lose a lot of customers. I guarantee I would never order anything from a computer at a McDonald's. It's like self checkout at a store. If they are that cheap that I have to check out myself I will not go there. Then accuse you of stealing when you walk out the door like Walmart.

What right does govt have to dictate how much profit someone makes?
Margins are built in so if Wal Mart wants to maintain a 60% profit it will
A few years ago, govt settled with the tobacco industry, I believe Cigarettes were around $2 a pack then and tobacco was very profitable. Today after paying out tens of billions and numerous taxes placed on the product, cigarettes are around $6 a pack and still very profitable.
What will happen is prices will rise, people will lose their jobs, automation will take over and hours will be slashed
No one will benefit from this
The middle class will be hurt the most due to the hurting of their purchasing power and inflation
But hey it is a great feel good issue that gets the Dems base all riled up

Not naming anyone, but if wages went up to 25 bucks an hour, some would still not work. They can sit at home and do nothing, and live off the taxpayer.Basically free medical too.

And what kind of moron would fail to realize that in the fifties the cost of living matched the wages.
Or let me guess.......in the fifties a dozen eggs was $2.50, a gallon of milk was $3.00, gas was $3.00 per gallon.

Yep. Which is exactly why it's another bad idea that is coming out of Washington. Pretty sad to know that the American people have it figured out, but Washington is clueless.

And those that are clueless think that it won't force companies like McDonald's to raise everyone Else's wages there also to keep them ahead of the new hires. Some are so naive or have such a tunnel vision that they ignore the fact that the supervisors at McDonald's are getting paid LESS than the $15 dollars, so they will get a massive pay increase and those with any tenure at McDonald's will also require a wage hike to reward them for staying. End result......extremely high prices for our happy meals, or they shut the doors since nobody will pay that price and they can't make a profit. (<-----evil word)
