2 Killed, 20 Injured in Crashes on I-77 in Carroll Co.


FANCY GAP, Va. (WGHP) — Four multi-vehicle crashes on Interstate 77 in Carroll County have several miles of the road closed in both directions just north of the North Carolina-Virginia border Tuesday night.

At least two tractor-trailers crashed at mile marker 7 around around 4:55 p.m. Tuesday, blocking all northbound lanes. Troopers described the crash as being "with injuries," but it is not known how many were injured or how bad the injuries were.

The southbound lanes are still closed from the Highway 58 exit in Hillsville all the way to near the North Carolina Border after three crashes around midday Tuesday. Officials said the southbound lanes are expected to be reopened by 9 p.m. Tuesday at the earliest.

id like to know how many more people are gonna die on this mountain before these idiots decide to put up some kindof warning sighns,fog lights,like on I-64,fog speed limits,but basicly---slowing down!!!!!and getting there heads out of there arsess!!!!!!!
