2013 Volvo 780 i have a coolant disapeering act...we do have small leak on drivers side but not enough we dont think to warrent 2 gals of coolant added in 2000 miles...but when y fill to max next time u chk it it will be down to min and or below. ..once in 600 miles extremely low coolant level warning will pop on the go out..then go out and back on...it gets sucked in somewhere and u can stop and let pressure out of tank by unscrewing the cap and will cone up some or all the way...any ideas other than EGR stuff just replaced December

What motor? Smell the exhaust. If the motor is eating it, the exhaust will have a sweet smell to it. If your motor is a Cummins, look at the EGR cooler. Even if it was replaced, it still might be the culprit.

The Volvo engines especially the MP7 has EGR cooler leaks. Loosen the clamp & slide the hose back at the front of the EGR cooler. If it looks milky that is the culprit. You need to change the oil & filters if coolant is getting into the engine.

Is this a Cummins engine or a Volvo Engine?

If the engine is passing coolant through the cylinder (like a head gasket leak) it will show up in the DPF as a light grey ash.

It could be that the system did not get bled properly after the EGR work. That may be why the level comes back up after you stop and crack the radiator cap.

Also, don't rule out several small leaks here and there. I have seen small leaks, one or two in the sleeper lines, and a couple up front add up to considerable coolant loss. Volvo uses a kind of face o-ring seal in some areas, such as the connections to the sleeper heater core and they leak frequently. Those Swedes build some weird stuff.
