I got my paystub off of upsers this morning and noticed that I did get a pay raise of 27 cents an hour. Then I tried to figure out why my pay was less this week then last week, and my medical went up $43.41 per week. There is the answer, little pay raise, more money for benefits, and no I did not change anything on my benefits.

Are you at top rate?. I checked mine and I got the .30 cent per hour and the .075 for the road. I am at top rate.

Kind of makes you all warm and fuzzy inside doesn't it?

No, I am not at top rate. I am lucky that I will have a total of 4 raises this year, but I will break even at the third raise with the increase in benefits.

Also check your pay stub because a lot of us did not get paid for New Years day. I don't know if this is company wide, but we were told it would be in next weeks pay.

In the past sometimes your payroll got messed up.
But it was being done by someone at your local terminal, and sent to payroll via company mail.
A few of us had this happen which we brought it to the attention of our TM's,or the one he had doing it.

But its a different process now its not done anymore on a local basis.
Everything is linked to the computer time clock we swipe in on.
All that information goes directly to our companys payroll department, and they direct deposit,or cut checks for those who don't have their money directly deposited in their banks.

I found this out last month.
Somehow I double swipped,or hit the wrong bottons?
My TM isn't sure of what happened.
I was out on the last of my vacation days around Christmas.
I checked the UPSers web site to view my statement, and it showed me having mega hours of overtime.

Well being the dedicated employee that I am.
I got right on the horn, and called my terminal.
I told my TM about the payroll error.
He said he would have to check into it.
Then I asked him who was doing our payroll at the terminal?
Maybe they messed something up?
Thats when he told me it was out of his hands he would have to check with the companys payroll department and get back to me.

I have direct deposit,so after a few hours my TM called and told me what may of happened they weren't sure?
Payroll told him to tell me to enjoy that large check, and they would make the ajustment for the next direct deposit.
So I did just that.
Then took a big hit on the next pay day.
My co-workers said I was crazy,I should have kept my mouth shut.
I said yeah right sooner or later computers have a way of catching up with you.
I figured I may as well get it over with when I saw the error.

I just looked at my pay stub and did the math and it is correct. $21.80 per hour.

Maybe each employee at that terminal whos only paying 27 cents.
Has their employees contributing 3 cents per person to the TM's bouns?

New employees start out at 85% of top pay and increase 2.5% every six months so you dont get the full raise unless you are at top rate.

start 21.80 x .85=18.53
.5490 x .85=.4666
6 mo 21.80 x .875=19.07
.5490 x .875=.4803
12 mo 21.80 x .90=19.62
.5490 x .90=.4941
18 mo 21.80 x .925=20.16
.5490 x .925=.5078
24 mo 21.80 x .95=20.71
.5490 x .95=.5215
30 mo 21.80 x .975=21.25
21.80 x .975=.5352
36 mos = top rate

I might not have the exact numbers but this the gist of it and why you dont get the full raise if you're not a full scale.

OKAY with this being said I was under the impression TOMCAT was at top rate, so maybe he is being prorated?

Thank you, this does explain things a bit more. So they do the math a bit different, and I still got a raise. Talked to guys at the terminal that were at full scale and they got there full raise so I know that in a few monthes I will still get my next raise. Thanks for all the info.
