With the way people drive nowadays.......this is totally amazing. Congrats to David Henry.

Holland Professional Driver David C. Henry Reaches Remarkable Three Million Mile Safety Record | JOC.com

Flash, what is so "Amazing" about this?? Holland has some "hidden" talent that doesn't even get an honorable mention, like me. 1 Million accident free miles with my own piece of equipment, 1 Million @ Preston, 1 Million @ Roadway, 500k @ Crown Cork before IPC bought them up and currently just over 500K here at Holland, ALL ACCIDENT FREE,. That totals up to just over 4 MILLION MILES. Congrats to Henry and Sparks, career Holland men whom never had to look outside the gates for employment elsewhere. I was in Cleveland when Henry came in with his police escort. All the bells and whistles and the cake wasn't too shabby either. Maybe YRC/Holland should check their books and see that there are quite a few of us "seeded" into their system and maybe we too, should be recognized....What do you think?

With all due respect for your total of accident free miles, bfalls, a company can't give you credit for miles while you were at other carriers.

Guess what, I've bumped 10 Million docks accident free in 37 years of driving. Top that Flash.LOL

I bumped 10 million docks in 17 years. Lol

So YOU were the one pulling down the numbers. Foot dragger.lol

I had a million at my prior employer, and a million at Holland.A million is a million no matter where it was.
Absolutely. To reach a million even once is something to be damn proud of. Three million will always amaze me knowing about all of the distractions that the four wheelers have nowadays. And at times their stupidity can cost us an accident.

I'm working towards that milestone. Its hard for a city driver but I spend my day going around and around in the roundabouts. I'm racking up the miles!

It's no "at fault" accidents though, if the 4-wheeler hits you, and it's deemed "non-preventable" the safe driving miles still pile up. You can still be involved in an accident, and still reach 1,2,3 million "safe driving" miles....it's a little misleading actually..lol.

Yep, I understand that. But I know of instances where the police at the scene didn't issue a ticket to our driver and was found to be not at fault, but the company deemed it preventable. Which is b.s. in my opinion.

Three million is an incredible accomplishment and very impressive! Over the years I have done both linehaul and P&D and I think I would be more impressed with twenty years of accident free P&D than forty years of linehaul....but that's just my opinion and I do run the road now.

I was a city driver, and I know that our deliveries get us into some horrible spots, but since I've never run line haul, I'm staying out of the debate over which classification is tougher when it comes to safe driving. Both have serious hazards.
In my opinion, there are so many bad drivers (4-wheelers) on the road nowadays, that to make it 10 years in either classification, accident free, seems like a blessing.

probably better chance of fender benders in the city...less likely on linehaul but, when there is an accident, it's usually more serious.
You rarely see a P&D accident posted in the accident form, it's usually a fatal linehaul wreck

Yep. The line haul have to deal with constant darkness, deer, and drunks........and at a higher speed.
I had a genius pull off the shoulder last week (tractor trailer) in front of me..wouldn't have been so bad if he'd have stayed in the right lane but, he swung out into the left lane to go around the truck that was also parked on the shoulder in front of him. I had to hit the grass with my left side tires...these are the kind of fools out there now..every night ya see a new level of stupidity
