if you are part of the nmfa like i believe you guys are then the language is certainly there
it may not appear in your supplement but it is there in the master agreement

the pse is in effect in the east and is running smooth so far
it was implemented utilizing the already in the system freight which would be considered next day freight
the company has not really sold the service in the big way which was anticipated as they seem to want to iron out the kinks without the risk of being inundated with freight that they might not be able to handle
first problem to be addressed is manpower
most terminals are having problems getting new guys on board as the tier progression seems to be a major obstacle for any new hires to live with and overcome
an interesting aspect of the pse change has been the "new" definition of pse freight as opposed to what was described when the pse deal was first broached

this new definition now includes any old freight which the transit times have been improved on is now considered to be pse work
for example
winston salem loads used to go to carlisle pa and had a 3 day transit time
now the winston loads bypass carlisle and go to avenel nj whereas any terminals in the north east now also bypass carlisle with their winston loads and go to avenel which is now an pse exchange point
these loads are not cross docked but simply staged at the facility so no dock work is required by these pse guys at the exchange point
by doing this the transit times have become 2 days thus the new designation as pse work
all next day freight is shuttled to scranton pa where as many as 16 -18 terminals' drivers meet and exchange this freight and return that night to their home terminal
a similar setup is in orange ct for many new england terminals
there is dock work required in this type of exchange
almost all of new england is in pse mode meaning that entire region's freight is now considered pse freight
there will also be several meet and greets at designated rest areas on the highways of which there are only a handful now occurring with more to follow
limits on distances are approx 200 miles one way
the pay is hourly vs mileage which ever is greater
so far hourly is the norm with drivers working 12 - 14 hours per day = $1500 - $1600 per week {4 days} with not really having the hours for the 5 th punch

the change for you guys will probably include similar situations
hope this helps you to understand whats happening:birthday: :borg:
