I'd bet that they will be going after health insurance, they'll try to put us in their company plan and I've heard enough about it from the other side of the window to know that we don't want it. I believe that they are kind of stuck with the current pension plan(s) for now, maybe next time.
Not me, they'll start with $100/month and go up from there, whoever came up with the idea that we pay healthcare copays should be hanged from a tree, there is no excuse for it. Hell, the money does NOT even go to the insurance company, it goes into the company's pocket.

I guess it comes down to this: What are you willing to go on strike for?

Yes we are C-6 and I like it. I don't think they're complaining about our insurance. They're complaining that the company is probably going to ask for a co-pay.

Nope and I wish that you hadn't even written that down. We are in a grave driver shortage and there is no reason to take any cut at all and the perfect opportunity to get back everything we gave up plus some to catch us back up to the rest of the industry.

You're right, Brother,..... healthcare is a big hot topic..... If only because the companies have created a social meme where they've convinced everyone to "chip in" to save those poor, ailing plans.........

Which is not true...... those insurance companies who underwrite healthcare are some of the most robust companies as far as profit goes, in the world.

And those that pulled out of Obama care, did so because they were only going to make 80 billion a year having to insure the sick and needy along with the healthy,....... instead of the 100 billion if they can choose to only insure the healthy.........

There's no need to "tip" our employers to maintain the health care plan....... even as a bargaining chip to get a quick contract settlement.

But it's true that it comes down to what you are willing to strike for....... and employers, along with "healthcare" insurers, politicians, and various sundry business groups, are going to use the ol' standby of crying poor and destitute.......

They're out buying sackcloth and ashes right now...... probably at market prices.......

And this shortage is something we can use to our advantage. Hell, they haven't been able to find anybody to hire the last four years, and 9 months from now, when the contract is up, it won't be any different. Guys, it's up to us ultimately what we're going to accept as a fair and decent contract. Five days on the picket line, and watch how fast they cave in.

They did their damndest to NOT let the burgeoning driver shortage become an issue in the last contract.....

And they had help and collusion with the Teamsters negotiating committee doing the old wink-and-nod..... and not using the shortage as a bargaining chip.
