Let's hope congress can do something before the 40% Cadillac Tax that will have to be paid in 2020 on the Teamster Heathcare Plan

That's the Plan that the UPS full-timers can get, right? I think something will change by then....Lot of ....flux....in healthcare now.

Of course,....lot of....flux....in taxes, too. They may end up keeping that tax, just to pay for the cuts they gave to big Business.

Our plan is under the Cadillac threshold. As long as you have a family at least.

The Affordable Care Act's high-cost plan tax (HCPT), popularly known as the “Cadillac tax,” is a 40 percent excise tax on employer plans exceeding $10,200 in premiums per year for individuals and $27,500 for families. The tax is scheduled to take effect in 2020.

Our policy is $17500 or so.

Sorry, I did not know all teamsters collect their pension at age 42.

    Good for you....

    I'd be happy too....

Your brothers who have worked 30 years or more may not be as lucky. Some locals are near insolvency and most teamster pensions are in the critical & declining status... They may have to reduce benefits to members who worked scores of years....

    But you got yours.....

    Good for you.....

I think maybe you might misunderstand how various Teamster plans work. Some are defined-contribution plans,......some are defined-benefit plans.

It would depend on the individual member’s situation,...and whether he had changed jobs or industries. Many plans have different thresholds for retirements.

It is comparatively rare that a Teamster could draw a check at age 42,......but it is not unheard of........
