Ac unit that runs without engine?

AC UNIT THAT RUNS WITHOUT ENGINE?

Do they make a AC unit that runs independently from your engine without leaving your truck idle all night?
I think they do so I'd like to get some feedback on what's out there, what's best and has a decent price. Thanks.

One of the trucks at my company had one that ran on battery power.

It worked great when the batteries were new.

But after a couple of weeks the batteries were tired (I don't think they used deep cycle batteries) and then the driver had to idle the truck all night.

go to just about any truck stop, and look for the freebie magazines.

in some of them, there will be advertisements for a stand alone a/c unit. it is portable, so you can take it camping, or use it at home if need be, if the electricity in your area is down.
