Anyone seen this?
"Troopers say the crash happened shortly before 6 a.m. Officials say 69-year-old Richard Jason Randolph had stepped over a wall and was working to secure the trailer when he fell"
69 years old and still working? Why?
He's in CSPF
It was the tow truck driver that fell.
Nah. He'd at least have some retirement to rely on if that were the case. He's probably been non union his whole life.
At 69 I hope to be comfortably on a fishing bank with my grandchildren. Damn falling to my death working for some .
No kind of job for a 69 year old man to be doing.
It wasn't a Holland trailer. It was some old swing door that somehow got the nose wall replaced with one from a Holland unit.
Funny thing is some guys won't retire , we still got some old guys driving , last i heard there was a line haul guy 71 years old still driving !!
Key words in your post "hope to be". That's what a LOT of members in the CSPF are saying.
Some of it is an ego problem. Can't admit to themselves that they're getting OLD.
See - "I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair" by George Jones video
I personally know some a lot older than that and are still tough as nails. If you love your job and are still strong and healthy, why not?
Just sitting around, getting fat with nobody to talk to about what you've done all your life, is what makes you old.
we have more than a few swing door holland trailers, they start with "19"
I can see Team BRG-Wong trying to leave the nursing home every Friday to get their Gold Hotel...
I was in Charlotte a couple weeks ago and over heard a driver in there say he was 78!
What's really F'd up about this picture is that the BODY is laying on the ground infront of that fire/EMS truck. Yeah, it's covered up but does one really think the family wants to look at this pic and see their loved one laying on the ground under a tarp?
It's nobody's business but theirs.
Fine go ahead on DIE on the job then !! we have had a few already do that !! r.i.p. fool's !
And that's your opinion, and I respect it. We all have one.
