any news on us being sold???
Yep , XPO looking at YRCW as a Whole or maybe just parts of it to buy , per the YRCW page ?
Wong, in that 14’ MOU didn’t YRCW make it so that if it was sold that it had to be sold as a whole?
For the life of me I can’t see XPO buying this mess! Sure the freight lanes and customers, but XPO does well without taking on all of the mess that YRC created so why would they buy us? Amazon maybe as they are actively looking for a carrier of their own, but they have the money to actually start one from scratch if needed, and they already utilize outside carriers to move their freight for next to nothing with little overhead so I take them out of the equation as well.
Who else has deep enough pockets and the willingness to take on the boondoggle known as YRCW?
Google (they have google convoy now)
Uber (they have Uber Freight now)
^^^^^^^— both more geared toward the O/O anyway.

Most in and around the industry know the mess that is YRCW. For the life of me I find it hard to believe an outside investor would want to touch this place. When you examine the numbers and debt as well as the labor liabilities and all that goes along with that, it becomes a huge deterrent for investors. Could a VC invest and liquidate? Sure, but even then you run into the asset side of things, or there lack of. Most assets are aged and worth little over all throughout the system so that factors in as well.
I can assure you that wongway was being sarcastic. And for those who don't already know...the only selling of YRC will be at the auction house.
Or as you call it, Fleabay!
Yes I was just being Sarcastic , but how ever now today heard a rumor that Amazon is testing the waters by shipping with us before putting in a Bid to buy us !!
They are shipping with us because we are desperate and will haul it for next to nothing. The discounts that are required to get their freight doesn’t make it profitable in the end. If the pick ups are late or the deliveries are late there is a mandatory charge from them as well, thus bumping them ahead of more profitable freight.
Remember when we first took them on dispatch made it a point to let us know it was amazon freight. The reason being was the fact that if missed a penalty was charged according to one of our dispatchers. They were told not to miss this freight at all costs! Now I know for a fact we missed some other pickups at that time due to this because I am close to many of the regular customers and they called me asking me where we were and why we missed them.
The bill count numbers may look better, but if you are not making a decent margin per bill what’s the use? holland used to be more picky with their freight as I am sure New Penn was as well, but YRC is all about numbers.
Ringling Bros. is thinking of a come back, if all the clowns go with the deal.
It was just a Sarcastic joke about Amazon , Nobody is buying us !
But what about the elephants? Or the elephant in the room in this case
Trump has authorized shooting them.
Not that I know of, not even midget clowns.
I bet if someone did buy us it would be a company that none of us have ever heard of and could not pronounce the name but it would have a lot of X's and vowels in it! Rename it the Orient Express Trucking Company or Truckers of the Eastern Moon or something like that!
What size round will I need? .50 or so?
You're out of my wheelhouse on this but I would expect that a .50 BMG should take care of 'em.
Don't know the caliber, but the gun some of these guys use to shoot B S, should do the job.
BTW, please exclude me from this!
I will just have to get a turkey instead
Trump reverses elephant trophy ban after public outcry and says it will stay in place while his decision is under review
sum young moon? ..is he still around?
Nobody ever expects these guys. And unlike Amazon, XPO, FedEx etc. these guys aren't anti-union. Everyone figured Celadon would buy CFI, but it was these guys instead.
TFI wants into the US market and LTL is their specialty. They've turned around union carriers on the verge of bankruptcy and closure before. If they could buy YRCW for the right price, I bet they would. But I don't think anyone else is interested in doing anything other than pick over the bankrupt corpse at auction.
