PHOENIX A semi truck with a tank trailer went off Interstate Ten today, crashed through a right of way fence and struck a wall, killing the driver.

The truck also struck a residential gasline before it spilled two to three thousand gallons of hot tar on the frontage road.

The road was closed for hours but was scheduled to reopen at five o'clock. The freeway remained open and traffic moved smoothly.

Southwest Gas is working to repair the gas line.

No other vehicles were involved and no one besides the driver was hurt.

His name is not being released until officials tell his family about the accident.

He was not wearing his seat belt.
