The Storm Prediction Center has updated the discussion for the upcoming severe outbreak expected to light off in a few hours after the sun rise.

You can expect winds in excess of 80 mph on a line from roughly the Bootheel, west of Memphis down towards around Vicksburg MS today and east. We actually are along US 67 and already scheduled to recieve EF3+ Tornados, two inch hail plus and winds in excess of 80. And probably get this started about noon our time Wed today.

If you are in a 18 wheeler and are coming here to Arkansas from the east or Midwest or the deep south, you might as well hammer down and get west of here into Oklahoma before around 2 PM today. The formal tornado storms and such will have organized and gained power by that time today. My own estimate is actually 11 am on through the rest of the day into 2 am thursday. All of it noisy, wet and really violent.

Little Rock Weather Service.

Google the Letters LZK and you will be presented with the Arkansas Weather page updated in real time during storm outbreaks. If its on the page for your viewing that means its happening now. This moment. IF they fail and seek shelter, other NWS stations from OKC to Memphis down to Shreveport and up towards St Louis are already ready at a moment's notice to take over and cover Arkansas, Mississippi etc.

Memphis, Paducah, Jackson are not where you want to be today or tonight. You want to be gone. There is hell coming. It should arrive for you east of Arkansas about dinner time give or take.

Thats all I have for today. There is no point in talking this or that. Everything is a threat to your property, life and your 18 wheeler today. Dont be here. Be away. IF you must be here then abandon your rig for a concrete building. You will ride out the storm day there. IF a big EF3 tornado or larger shows up, you must do whatever you can to get below ground. Its your only chance at saving your life.

On Television, our Little Rock THV 11 is the elite. Brannon has had 30 plus years following tornadoes locally on air. They have apps to your cell phone and internet access in real time during storm conditions. They simply do not mess about and bury you in bamboozle or bull. They follow the particular tornadoes that matter and is a real threat to people wherever it might go.

There are other stations availible, but they are not as elite and professional as THV 11.

Part two.

As a reminder you can tie into your local Police Force in town or county with your smart phone. Text to their storm number and you will recieve updates in real time of emergencies.

You have a tornado watch. Meh ok.

You have a tornado warning. Ok thats bad. You also will hear sirens going on with either a dual tone "Nee-Naw" or a steady roar at one pitch. Some new sirens will digitally announce to people with a voice. (Those are a waste of time)

Here they have two more modes. They wail in the first alert. That means your ass is in a warned area. There is a tornado coming. If it wails a second time, that means your local lawmen and spotters are following it live coming to your spot.

IF it continues to be violent and the sirens fall to a deep constant low roar that you feel in your bones? That means that they are left on on purpose and are now in a long duration operation to stay cool or until destroyed by loss of power or tornado. You do not want to be around that. That sound gets into everything. I rather have the classic rise and fall nuclear attack alarm than that low roar.

If you are in a county here and they give the words Tornado Emergency and your ass is in it... well you are facing death coming at you. You need to do whatever it takes to abandon your 18 wheeler and get into a basement, underground especially or a strong government concrete building.

They do not throw around the words Tornado Emergency for fun. This is really bad when if they use this term.

Schools have FEMA tornado bunkers capable of holding a student body or perhaps a thousand to two thousand souls. Just keep in mind that if it is school hours only the kids get the space. No one else. If its after school hours, the law will open the entire school bunker space for anyone who does not feel safe as the tornado comes on.

Tornado sizes. They have the thin dust devils. Then stovepipe. (Wizard of Oz tornado) then wedge. You also have a short wedge wider than its tall. Those are known as maxi wedge. EF4 and beyond.

The absolute killing tornadoes are so big that it simply erases the entire sky. It can be high noon and 10 minutes later as it approaches you,. you are in night time pitch dark conditions. Those approach 300 mph if not higher. It will kill everything alive.
