A TRUCK driver cheated death and two police officers were forced to jump for their lives in 20 minutes of madness on the Hume Freeway near Benalla yesterday morning.
The two Wangaratta policemen jumped clear of their patrol car just seconds before it was struck and demolished by a semi-trailer at the Winton bypass in the dramatic chain of events in the early hours of the morning.
