TForce | Bennies Old Bennies new, and the comparison to the union

Skeeter said:
You must talking about the $47.00 dollars or so its costing me a week. Well, No I don't like that. But I think what I get is pretty good.

Not going to go into all of it here. Don't have the time or energy. But if enough people don't care for it then it is their right to vote for the teamsters. Myself I'm waiting to see all the mistreatment we are going to be getting.

Well gentalmen, I have the actual awnser and I am sure that skeeter and most other road drivers can also agree That if we did go union that all road drivers mite take a cut in pay, after all road drivers do get paid rather well at UPSF.

As far as the Insurance bennies, wich is all the improvment we have at this point. It will cost me out of pocket per pay period $63.00, and this is for the following.

1. BLUECROSS HMO BLUE 15.00 COPAY FRO OFFICE VISIT'S.
2. MEDCO PRESCRIPTION PLAN 20% DED. INSTEAD OF A 20.00 COPAY. 1500.00 MAX OUT OF POCKET.
3. LIFE INS. IS LESS EXPENSIVE FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF COVERAGE WE HAD AT O . WE CAN ALSO GET UP TO 1,000,000 IN COVERAGE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY INSTEAD OF $50,000.00 MAX FOR ME 25,000.00 FOR SPOUSE 10,000.00 FOR EACH CHILD.
4. Also UPS PAID EMPLOYEE LIFE INS.
5. AND THERE WILL BE MORE TO COME I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO READ THE REST AND THERE IS MORE.

Also skeeter it is hard to see all the mistreatment from behind the wheel on a nitely basis particularly when this is all you do.
My new jobclass is " Freight Redundancy Specialist"

The correct candidate for this position will have the ability to tolerate mentally challenged dispatchers who excell in the art of ignorance redundancy, and can withstand driving 18 wheelers at top end speed's in circles.:TR10driving03::TR10driving03:

How so? We, at UPS make way more. Union LTLers also make more and there about to recieve a COLA increase. Plus, they get "full" pay for turn-around, break-down and delays.

Was there any changes in wait time, breakdown, drops and hooks or any other perks?

I don't think our wages are better than Yellows or Roadways. And doesn't compare to UPS mileage guys. I mean we get paid well, but pay cut? Delay and all that plus a nickel more a mile (UPS). And no cost for insurance. Not trying to rattle your cage but its apples and oranges as far as pay.

If UPSF workers became Teamsters, you would fall under the LTL Master Freight Agreement.
Presently the wages look like this

Platform...............$21.193 + .10(COLA)=$21.203

City P & D
Switchers.............$21.63 + .10(COLA)=$21.73 hour

Platform, City, & Switchers all get
time and 1/2 after 8 hours per day
time and 1/2 for Saturday
time and 1/2 plus the day for holidays
double time on Sunday

Road (Linehaul)......53.125 cents per mile + (COLA)....(.25 mills for each 1 cent increase in the hourly wage)

Road Drivers get paid the prevailing hourly wage for delay, impassable highways, weather delays, shop time, and .25 of an hour for each pin hooked or dropped if doing their own drops and hooks. They also get 4 hours straight time for working holidays in addition to their mileage and other work performed time for that day.

As far as the Insurance bennies, wich is all the improvment we have at this point. It will cost me out of pocket per pay period $63.00, and this is for the following.

I suspect the pay period is every week? That would mean $63 x 4 = $172 per month.
Compare that to $54 per month for dues.

1. BLUECROSS HMO BLUE 15.00 COPAY FRO OFFICE VISIT'S.
We have a variety of HMO's to choose from, some have no copays whereas mine has $10 copay.

2. MEDCO PRESCRIPTION PLAN 20% DED. INSTEAD OF A 20.00 COPAY. 1500.00 MAX OUT OF POCKET.
$5 generic.....$10 brand name prescriptions. ( I have one particular brand name that I pay $20 for).

I have gotten (Teamster only) offers for supplemental insurance ranging from no additional cost for $10,000 coverage up to $23.34 a month for $200,000 family plan.

4. Also UPS PAID EMPLOYEE LIFE INS.
You might have me on this one.

5. AND THERE WILL BE MORE TO COME I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO READ THE REST AND THERE IS MORE.

Also skeeter it is hard to see all the mistreatment from behind the wheel on a nitely basis particularly when this is all you do.

Skeeter only sees what is in his particular world. He has mentioned to me that in his 24 years he has been able to handle his situtuatons on his own. Whether he will be able to continue to do so in life at UPSF remains to be seen, but at least he has not totally ruled out becoming a Teamster...yet.

Greezy, you allways make me luagh:biglaugh:

I only see the Union as making yall stronger, plus all the things mentioned a hundred time's before. You think you have it good? The Union will make it better. If UPSF stay's non-union, then I see yall as the weak link.

Go Union, it will only stengthing the both of us:bgroovy:

Master freight contract booklet that ABF has did not show me that we would take a cut in pay on anything. We would be going forward.

More road info....under the NMFA
Pups are now paying 54.400....
In the Central and the South, and maybe some other areas, we get all time spent on drop/hooks rather than the pin pay....
We get paid for our time on drop/hooks whether or not we have to do the work....
On the Holiday pay, we get pay for work performed, 8 hours straight time for the Holiday and a 4 hours straight time premium for working on the Holiday....so a 500 mile trip with no delay time of any kind on a Holiday will pay $531.80.......

I posted that road pay was with the COLA, I just didn't know how much of an increase it worked out to be. My bad, I forgot to mention the 8 hours for the holiday pay in addition to the 4 hour premium and work done for the day. Thanks for the correction.

No wonder the companies are going out of business or starting nonunion companies.

Skeeter,

Who's going out of business now? Last I saw, a few nonunion companies were having some trouble.
Just getting paid what was negotiated for and deserve. Do you deserve anything less?

Jealousy will eat you up inside.....are you having ulcer problems again?
:biglaugh:  :woohoo1:

I guess some have a low self worth so feel the need to be non-union.

skeeter,
Apparently it doesnt matter what we say, your gonna twist it into a anti-union remark
