lol it's so hilarious watching grown men tell everybody how proud they are doing free work...Just because you are willing to do it doesn't mean anybody else should be.

Its also hilarious to hear grown men that think they really did something just by hooking or unhooking a set.
Ya all keep whining over a nickle and we'll see what happens next year when they pass that waiver around. Mercy, I may need to buy stock in the pacifier buisness when that happens.

Right Mildew. Last week I had an outbound set hooked for me up in Mpls. Didn't like the looks of the dolly 5th wheel latch/ wasn't quite all the way in. I pulled the set apart, put dolly buy the shop, put a new one on my lead+ backed it under the tail. Then went in and got numbers changed. All took about 15 minutes, no big deal/ no charge. Company didn't try to screw me. They paid the spotter to orginally hook the set so why should they get stuck for the same job 2 times? And oh yes, my set went to Indy which paid me over $300 for about 10 hours of driving, then to a very nice motel.

Yea nice , how many hooks have you done for free or maybe the fact that I was told that extraboard cant get linen allowance, and gee the nice accommodations in crap hole baltimore where they use the decent rooms now for storage and we get to sleep in the dung hole sauna/basement. Or maybe its the crap trap loaner . Just venting but is not all green pastures.

I helped a fellow driver break a set last night in the rain, then when walking by the dock I steadied some freight on a forklift that a dockworker was moving. But now I'm really wondering. Was I helping out my co-workers or giving away my time to the company? Kind of a gray area there.

You help a lift driver??? That's an assist. You should get 1/2 of the lift drivers hourly pay. That is not the way they do things in the west and above all "HELPING A FELLOW DRIVER IN THE RAIN" that's the straw that breaks the camels back. Somebody dial 911, bring in the lawyers, hazmat crew, Osha, news chopers, Clean air activists, etc

Gettin' rained on and steadyin' freight aint in yer job description, driver. I just may have to tell on you...

Lawyers are involved because they want their 40% Obama needs the money for his reelection campaign. My paychecks are fat and I'm happy. Last time I checked trucking companies that operate Interstate commerce are exempt from OT rules. I could be wrong this is my understanding but what do I know I'm only a college edumacated linehaul freight relocation specialist!

Is that the same as a physical distribution managment specialist ?????

I wonder how many drivers out there in the trucking world don't even know how to hook or break a set ????

Probably anyone that never worked ltl before has no clue how to hook a set. I'd be willing to bet, 90% of those drivers will say they do or used to do that ::shit:: all the time in Nam or something.

Nah. Learnt that in Korea. But they were 20-trailer road trains, driver.

But seriously: I might be able to break a set. That doesn't count though, does it?

You wouldn't have any trouble breaking a set. Now building a set is a little different but when you get hired P+D that shouldn't come up for a while. That should give you plenty of time to receive proper instruction.

:Off-Topic:
We didn't steal one of your stories, did we??? :biglaugh:

Are you really that delusional or are you management. Google it if you really want info or if you are only looking to be confrotational then maybe the owner of this forum might need to look for a different moderator. It's a wonder nobody comes on here anymore except the few who look through the same rose colored glasses as yourself.

I always got paid for everthing I've done and its been that way for years. Ijust can't understand how so many can gripe and moan about something that probably never happened. I was wanting some to fill us in on what the deal is over yonder insted of just talking about having big balls and hiding behind the computer and say google it. Which is the very reply I thought id get.

Priciate BB. I downloaded all 25 pages. In fairness to everyone, I will read all of it with a neutral mind before I make any smart#$$ comments.

It's like I said in the past. And I'll say it again. There is always a reaction for every action. I told them to their face at that meeting in Pomona, when Jr. Johnson arrogantly stated, and I quote. " Boys we now own G.I. Trucking Co. We own all of G.I. Trucking Company. And if you don't like what we have to say to yall today, you are free to leave and go down the street to Fed-Ex." And I replied, "We will not let you tear us down, and strip us of everything we have earned over the years without a fight." And that is exactly what proud G.I. drivers and proud former G.I. drivers are still doing today. End of story. TE out....
