My new 2018 tractor will jam on the brakes under a certain overpass - routinely. And no, I don't use cruise control. It's happening to other drivers at the same overpass. Personally, I think the whole thing is ridiculous. I'm sure they have their reasons for installing them. But if you need a truck to brake for a driver, then maybe that driver shouldn't be driving your truck? I hate not having control over my truck. I don't need a truck braking for me. I'm aware of my space around my rig, and always keep safe following distance. I don't need some contraption to put the brakes on for me. This addition hasn't changed the way I drive, it just makes me cringe when I come up to an overpass.
