Got a call from the term manager about running line haul. I was told the drivers at that location as well as the destination locations don't work the dock at all. I thought I read somewhere that you guys do work the docks?

Also he said line haul pays a flat rate per trip not mileage or hourly. Is R&L one of the cheaper paying LTL carriers or does the flat rate work out pretty well?

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Drivers DO NOT work the dock, unless you are hired as a combo driver. Not even sure if Columbia uses them.
The linehaul pay is by the trip. They have a formula for figuring pay, based on mileage plus time for drop and hook. As a new hire you'll start out at something like 80%. It takes I believe 3 years to get to top rate.
