MUNDELEIN — Con-Way Transportation Services received preliminary approval from the Village Board on Monday night to expand its freight terminal on Tower Road.
All that is now necessary is passage of a special-use permit to authorize continued use of the property at 957 Tower Road as a freight terminal. That will probably occur at the next Village Board meeting on July 10, according to Village Assistant Administrator Mike Flynn.
Jeff Edwards, representing Con-Way, told trustees the firm has been operating as a trucking terminal at the Tower Road location for many years. The company currently has 104 employees, 68 of whom are truck drivers.
