NEW ORLEANS, Aug. 21 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Dale Duncan, a Con-way Freight professional truck driver based in Chula Vista, CA, was named the 2006 National Truck Driving Grand Champion. Duncan's driving skills and knowledge of transportation and truck safety information topped those of 381 other drivers from all across the United States in the National Truck Driving Championships, held in New Orleans. Duncan has driven for Con-way Freight for 16 years, logging 1.1 million accident-free miles.

The 69th annual "Super Bowl of Safety" is sponsored by the American Trucking Associations (ATA).

The contestants were the state champions (in eight truck types) from all 50 states. Collectively, they have driven over 552 million accident-free miles.

Way to go Dale!! Looks like they gave him an extra $7,500 plus the pickup for the Grand Champion. I wonder if he could trade it in for a GT since he won a pickup in '03?
