Con-way Inc., owner of the largest U.S. regional trucker, agreed yesterday to pay $9.2 million to settle a suit by 140 pilots and flight crew members who worked for the company's air transportation unit until it was shut down in 2001. The suit, filed in a California state court, alleged wrongful termination and had sought at least $500 million in damages. Con-way will pay the settlement with funds set aside for grievances by members of the Air Line Pilots Association.
