You just don't get it do you
You bounced your post off mine. What we supposed to assume? Mars has 42 moons???
I've gotten it for the past 45 years of driving. Rules are rules, like'em or not.
Dont assume it meant other than it said. You were supposed to read what it said, and not what you apparently wanted it to say.
I was hoping you somehow though I wouldnt think that. We can always find a orange in the apple basket.
I don't know what to think on this forum.
I said I should've posted it as stand alone, and made a mistake quoting you, but was quite surprised by your curt response. Even more by your follow up about Mars. I've given you likes before, and found you thoughtful. That we're arguing surprised me, but it's what I've found on the Saia board lately. All the changes, cameras, and expansion seem to turning friends against each other.
I too have 45plus years driving trucks. One million as an O/O, several years in management, 22 years peddling for Preston, then Yellow, and now one million plus for my best job I've ever had. Currently, Driver for August 2016 for Indiana Motor Truck Assoc. Love my job, but it's long haul, and have been watching Saia expansion, since it brings great jobs to my Indpls. Reading these boards tho, i doubt I'll apply. Too many grouches....
Sorry I quoted you in my post. I drive thru that area twice a week, in all kinds of weather, and thought i could describe the area. Please accept my Apology, and let's move on.
I think only looking at the bottom line is destructive and breeds discontentment. Can a company be content when all that it looks at is the bottom line? Can a driver ever be content when all he/she looks at is the bottom line? We have removed boundaries that should not be moved at all and have replaced them with cold, unforgiving technology that has no care for man or woman. Only looking at the bottom line without looking at treating others the way you would want to be treated is a nightmare world with a big bank account.
Actually I've had occasion to speak with both over the years, but no, I don't have their cell numbers.
Actually, quite a few drivers have a lot of shares, we were buying them at 9.00 when they were first offered, maybe 8.00, and not all of us got them through company purchase.
Why do you feel that when someone disagrees it's bashing? You don't think drivers/dockworkers/etc voice their opinions when things come up in meetings? Not everyone is a yes man train, doesn't make you more valuable because you are, apparently no company you worked for or position you held thought so for too long anyway, and yet here I am killing it. I do my job very well, never any complaints, oh, and zero coaching sessions to boot. I'm badass that way. My opinion matters, may not change things, but maybe someday it may help. Of course you'll be long gone by then, I'll still be here killing it.
There is no apology required. We all are caught up in this discussion. My response was not meant to injure or anger you or anyone. If anyone needs to apologize, it would be me, and I do ask your forgiveness for my actions. Its been many years since I worked at Saia, but I still consider them a great source of employment. But lets face it, no place of employment is perfect. Especially since Cletus Peterson of Peterson Produce from Oxford Wisconsin retired. If there had ever been a perfect place to work, that would have been the place. But, thats old time reminiscing. Again. Please accept my apology for my overzelous response, and lets keep discussing things on this board. Who knows? We may actually solve someones problems on here one day.
Best post I've read on here in years. Wow, if they did all of those things again I'd put up with the cameras
