It appears when a schedule gets cut the driver does not go to the bottom of the extra board as our company handbook says he should. Instead he is offered a substitute run and this puts the extraboard driver who has waited his turn and only getting 1500 miles a week even further behind! Any ideas of who can correct this. Dallas management is not going to!:nutkick: :nutkick:

There is only one way to correct this. A CONTRACT. The company, The terminal, The TM. Can change any company rules as they see fit to benefit the terminal. Regardless of seniority or bid runs. You are at there mercy. SICKENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

flexability

flex...page 15 policy book, manager makes his own decisions....do i need to go on, non-union is flexability, so the only way to be accountable to go by the rules is with a contract, i have not seen too many workers complain about our pay, but look at everything else they complain about and cannot resolve it. unity is what we need. "Working together" is one of the main things in the union. guys take a moment and watch your co workers for a week or so . don't talk, just observe them.

If your only running 1500 miles a week i would get off my butt and quit complaining and start signing up on the weekends cause the work is out there, if that doesnt work i heard Mcdonalds was hiring :duh:

Mr Issue,
You are correct, page 15 of the "Employee Policy Book.

MANAGERS ARE THE COMPANY'S REPRESENTATIVES

Managers are delegated the authority to make thier own decisions about their local operations subject to UPS Freight's policies and rules, and subject to appropraite review with others. With this authority comes the expectations that managers will be responsible for the decisions they make. By delegating broad authority to managers, UPS Freight can manage its business on a personal level and develop a spirit of teamwork.

Sounds more like a divide and conquer tactic if you ask me.
Break the rules or operating policy to take care of one employee over the other and pitting them against each other doesn't sound like a "spirit of teamwork" to me.

When they cut my Sunday night schedule with out notice and with out allowing a rebid they told me the reason was because the company was not allowing anyone to work weekends anymore. I guess the rules changed again.

I'm not being a disgruntled employee but we need some work rules enforced. We had a bunch of our guys sitting at home because there were drivers for one terminal that we all know. They came over to fill in runs. I have never heard of this. If our guys were working. I have no problem but to make your own guys sit at home then have a few from another terminal fill-in. Is just plain wrong.

Denver to Dallas team has a 6 hour delay in Dallas....And yes it is for free......Good use of the teams.....Why not send them on a small turn somewhere to give 'em more miles???? But I guess this is probalbly just a donation so we can stay in business.....Am I *****ING????????
