i need questions asked about the road operation @ wilson please private message me
Any luck?? Not many road guys in Darlington..lol
yes big bird is telling me some stuff. r u a roadman 4 wilson?
Sharpshooter and several others in here were once linehaul with Wilson.Bird still has several connections at Wilson and can give you some pretty reliable info.
I work as an outside contractor assisting Wilson with hiring drivers. Can I help with any information?
Use to be. Bigbird can give you about as much info as anybody (and especially where to eat near the terminal)
Oh no,you went there..lol
How much does linehaul make and when was the last raise...Thanks.
Line haul start at 49 goes to 50 after 6 months and 52 after 1 year. Last raise was 8 or 9 years ago.
do roadmen have to hook and unhook there loads, and do they get paid to do that? do they fuel there trucks?
drivers hook and unhook, no pay. paid only to hook, unhook pups. no pay put trailers to dock or yard. some terminals drivers have to fuel, no pay
WOW what a great place to work!!!!
7.50 to unhook set and 7.50 to hook a set so a total of $15.00 for whole set.....most terminals have hourly paid guys do it so the road driver normally just drops set on yard
There's a lot of pay issues that would irritate you, coming from a union job.
Are you just looking to move to that area?
Yup. Unfortunately yrc & abf are end of lines in Florence the only drivers abf & yrc r looking for r p&d. I don't wanna do that
Yeah, pretty much the same story for all of them around there. Mostly, drive to Charlotte and work the docks.
There's Holland in Columbia, SC hiring for linehaul??
Estes made Florence a hub terminal a few moths ago.Just another option.GL
Hollands not an option. Im checking od
I'd be alittle worried to work at the Darlington Wilson barn. If they can close Asheville etc, they could easily close Darlington, it's surrounded by other terminals that could cover there ..just sayin
I've decided to stay with new penn. I have 2 much to lose. I have 3 wks vac & have good senority were i dont have 2 worry about getting laid off. My wife wants 2 move to myrtle Beach, but its not practical running the road for freight companies in that area. thanks to all who helped with info. Especially bigbird
