we’ve parked several tractors for “economy” due to needing repairs they don’t want to pay for right now… some trucks aren’t even a year old.

its never a good sign when tractors get parked for economy. Guess they are planning for this to be longer than I anticipated. Last time was during beginning of Covid and that sucked and tractors stayed parked for a long time.
Mind you I’m from a 150 man road board
keeping the tractors parked ..keeps the mileage down so they can get more time out of them.. so they think .where i worked they thought of nothing to put a POS behind the wheel for a short local day. company doesn't care. it's their equipment they'll decide what to do with it. If i breakdown F'em . now it's their problem.

Actually I’ve heard that one of the main factors to parking tractors is to save on insurance, registration, etc. Could that be it? Probably not..
But if you think about it, it’s REALLLLLY slow so why have so many tractors in service? I mean there’s 10-15 men not working daily on the road side

Must be "Monkey see, Monkey do". Saia is doing this in Houston 30 plus trucks down some as new as 2021's waiting on authorization to repair.
