President Trump plans to halt payments to insurers under the Obama-era healthcare law that he has been trying to unravel for months.

Two people familiar with the decision described the plan late Thursday night, seeking anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. [ lol the WH Leaker :eagerness: ]

The president's action is likely to trigger a lawsuit from state attorneys general, who contend the subsidies to insurers are fully authorized by federal law, and the president's position is reckless.

A panel of appellate judges recently ruled that a group of states can defend the legality of the subsidies if the Trump administration decides to stop paying.

These were the ones already found to be illegally funded by a court

    http://reason.com/blog/2016/05/12/federal-court-rules-that-obamacare-subsi

now find a left leaning court
then find a right leaning court

hey how about a court that actually follows the law

It doesn't matter what the leakers think about Trump's actions. The law is what matters. And had Obama not violated the law to begin with, we wouldn't even be having his conversation.
The left claims that they hate big corporations and their profits, yet they have no problem with the Govt. lining the big insurance company's pockets with money that is being illegally sent to those same big insurance companies, because it's being sent for Obamacare subsidies.
    Talk about hypocrisy.

I guess I was under the impression those subsidies had a sunset on them anyway, thought being with everybody on Barry-care costs were to drop and the subsidies would no longer be needed.

That was Obama's lie number 2,794.
The subsidy payments going to the insurance companies is illegal, that's why it's so easy for Trump to get rid of them.
Without that Dictator Obama, none of this could have ever taken place.

You guys are in support of Trump bringing down the American Health Care Act..
So you must have a positive plan to replace it with, something better right?

The Affordable Care act was never affordable, that's why we have no choice but to repeal, replace, or dismantle piece by piece.

REPEAL it, don't replace it. The markets will make it better by allowing sales across state lines and thru co-ops. Exactly how the unions do it. You like unions, correct?????

The Affordable Care Act was passed and made into law, and then the Republicans gained a few seats in Congress and refused to fund it.

Mr. Obama was forced to pay for the subsidies through an Executive Order.......on a month to month basis,.......just to fund the law that Congress had passed.

I am retired and too young for Medicare.........therefore I am on Obamacare. I am eligible for subsidies because my income level wasn’t over the threshold level. I guess as of November, my health care costs will more than double to almost $900 a month..........wonderful. We didn’t budget for that when we chose to retire.

I guess I will have to drop insurance and pay the tax penalty. We are reasonably healthy and we don’t use $900 of health and doctor services a month.

So,......we’ll join the ranks of those who are one car wreck,....one cancer scare,....one unforeseen incident......away from bankruptcy in our race to Medicare.

Anyone want to explain how this made my “healthcare” better?

The 2010 Dem Majority passed the law. Against The will of 64% of Americans, and 26 States. The 2014 Repub Congress had the authority and responsibility to set spending, just like the 1974 Dem Congress refused to fund The Vietnam War. Congress controls spending- Presidents swear to uphold those laws, (budgets) and the Constitution. Obama acted against both of those affirmations. So he didn't 'have to go around Congress and fund it'. It wasnt Obama's to do so in Article I. All Trump did was reverse it back to Congressional Authority, by ending Obamas Unconstitutional Exec Order.

Apparently, it hasn't occurred to you that the reason Repubs won those seats (and the House, the Senate, and the White House,) is because the Dems forced Obama care on America?

Right wing media propaganda swung the election.
Look who they put in the White House now.
We're lucky we aren't in a nuclear war yet.
