    Douglas Wade Leggett Sr.

    Mr. Douglas Wade Leggett Sr., 63, of Gosnell, passed from this life on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.


    Born in Tuscumbia, Ala., to James and Evelyn Smelley Leggett, he retired from FedEx Freight as a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.



    Doug loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing and going out to shoot his pistols and shotguns. He was a devoted husband, father and "Paw Paw."



    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Sidney Leggett and William Lawrence Leggett.



    He leaves his wife, Shirley Diane Leggett of Gosnell;



    His children, Doug Leggett Jr. and wife, Tina, of Damascus, Kenneth Leggett and wife, Tanya, of Greenbriar David Leggett and wife, April, of Jonesboro;



    Two sisters, Shirley Laster and husband, Jay, of Jonesboro, and Peggy Copeland and husband, Hershel of Cooter;



    Eight grandchildren, Colby Leggett, Brenna Leggett, Grace Leggett, Samantha Burnett, Taylor Burnett, Gary Hall, Erica Hall and Austin Hitchcock;








    One great-grandchild, Nevaeh Burnet; and




    A host of nieces, nephews and friends.



    Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Number 8 Cemetery near Cooter, with the Rev. Gary Hyde officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-2:30 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be emailed to cobbfuneralhome@sbcglobal.net

    R.I.P. Mr. Leggett. Prayer's and condolence's to his family and all that knew Doug. He's resting in God's house now.
