This topic should be on another thread, but since you asked, L/H out of STL reports that the company has formed a committee of drivers and management to discuss a new pay package. Discussions of drop/hook pay(pin pay),fueling time, repairs ect. are being talked about. My response was what are they going to take from us to pay for this??? Maybe a STL driver is on line to give an update.
I say keep it too...It wouldn't make that much difference. Nice gesture I suppose but just keep it. In the last 3 months we have lost 4 P&D drivers....These new cleaning duties caused a departure this past week...List has been revised to include 2 dockworkers and 2 drivers for each week....March 18th-23rd includes 2 senior drivers ...Which of course won't do a thing. The list is still out but I can't see this happening...The list will be sent to Pittsburg for clarification as we wait for a response from the state. As a side note our TM dips and spits in the trash cans all the time....He does carry his bottle to spit in but he spits in trash cans all the time...Dispatcher is a heavy smoker and the smoking area is just outside the door where you can find him most the time. I wish they would move it to the parking lot. Yep this list is going to Pittsburg to the attn of CK. Asking him if he can't find something more productive for his supervisors to do. Of course we expect no response but it's just our way to protest.

What does it tell you when the first week of toilet duties include the #3 senior driver?....The 2nd week includes #4 and #8....I guess it would have been to obvious to go after #1 and #2 the first and second week.

Too many skid marks on our bowl.....Let me tell you a gross story....We had a linehaul driver.....Well I had to edit it because it was just too gross.
Be a cold day in hell when I clean a toilet at this company, escpecially with you a wads pissing on seats walls and floors
we used to share the terminal with another company back a few years ago there offices were right under our bathroom well the crappers backe d up or a pipe split or something like that and the girls in the office down there all came up with frecikles brown ones sick you talk about a s@#%$ty place to work. lol true true true story
I always heard it ran down hill....I be damn....I know this is a shiddy subject....But if management didn't start it we wouldn't have finish it.....We wouldn't even be posting about this topic....I will not be degraded and neither will my co-workers....This will not stand.... We will not clean toilets.
It's not about being degraded. Janitors make a honest living. It's about being hired for a job and having other, non related, duties thrust on you.
Take a stand! If everyone refuses, it won't fly.
If cleaning is so offensive is trashing the place therapeutic ? The facility didn't get that way by itself. I'm not saying being on a schedule for cleaning is the right thing to do but if "all" employees took a little pride in the place this would be a non issue
Invite Rick G. and Chris K. down for a BBQ and let them christen the first toilet.
As I have said before I don't think I'm to good to clean a toilet...Just not here under these circumstances...I don't mean any dis-respect to janitors and I should have put it another way and for that I'm sorry...Janitors do make an honest living...Again I'm sorry it's not a degrading job....Many LTL companies I have worked for bid that janitorial position...they do that and other things around the terminal that needs to be done. Maybe they should try that. GR made the point quite clear we were not hired for that. We have taken a stand and have refused and they have not pushed this issue.....CK should be getting his copy of the list anyday...With a few choice words but nothing dis-respectful....It was very professional...I edited it as some guys were very out of control with their emotions....We all agreed with what was sent. Sometimes the guys at the top are not aware of what their managers are doing in the trenches at the service centers....Whether he calls the TM and backs his decision is yet to be known...We are hoping he tells him to find the supervisors something more productive to do besides harassing the drivers.
If someone chooses to make a living by by coming into contact with other peoples poop and urine that is good. That is an honest living providing a service that is needed. However, as a human being I have chose not to bring my body in contact with with other people's fluids for a living. Vitran does not own my body. I make choices for that. I will never be a nurse or a janitor for the same reason.
In Nevada giving blow jobs is an honest living. So, logical extension tells me that when executives visit a terminal in Nevada doing that may be part of the job. Think that is far fetched? Just keep drinking the kool-aide.

I might change a bed pan as a nurse....at almost 40hr. I would gear up and go for it....Of course it requires a 4yr degree to be a RN......I think a LVN only takes 2
CK will check the list to see who refused, if you're a $enior driver you will be dealt with and if you're a newbie he will let it slide. lmfao.
If many stand up and say NO, they will back down. Do you think CK wants to explain to RG how he caused a shutdown at a terminal over restroom duties?
Love that one H.E....Update....List removed...Not sure whats up just yet....I do find it funny that this week the wash basin we wash our hands in stopped up and over flowed all over the restroom floor....Would have flooded the whole breakroom if not for the master drain keeping it confined in the restroom....Toilets seem to keep getting stopped up with paper towels too.....Seems strange.
