File unemployment today if you believe there is no work Monday. There is nothing wrong with doing that in my opinion. If you happen to work Monday, you can simply put that day on your unemployment filing. You'll get unemployment a week earlier if you actually never work.

Until you are laid off or terminated, you shouldn't be able to file for unemployment. You are still an employee even though you are in limbo.
Nonsense, file immediately, you don't have to be laid off or terminated, you are not working, that's the criteria.
Example, if a road driver is on call and doesn't get out all week he can still file even though he is still an active employee. He didn't work, that's what counts.
