A semi truck driver started his retirement a little early after his truck caught fire in Utah this week.

Morgan County Fire & EMS responded to a vehicle fire shortly before 8 p.m. on March 1, 2023, at an off ramp on eastbound I-84 at mile marker 103 in Morgan County, Utah.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a semi truck and trailer fully engulfed in flames near an intersection.

It took firefighters several hours to extinguish the blaze.

Morgan County Fire Warden Dave Vickers said that the truck driver was en route to Florida with a load of RockStar energy drinks when “He heard a “pop” under the hood, instantly lost power gliding onto the off ramp and went out with a blaze of glory! Most likely the turbo blew and the rest was history.

From Morgan County Fire & EMS:

The operator of the truck is a 40-year veteran driver and was on his way to completing his last haul driving this big rig before retiring. The driver was transported by Ambulance to a local hospital for observation. He was heard saying, “I guess this is my way of going out in flames”. We wish him the best.

well, sorry to see his baby go up in smoke, but at least now he doesn't have to clean it up and listen to some rube try and low ball him on a sale.

he'll get whatever the value, and like it, and enjoy his retirement.
