The Florida Highway Patrol is asking the public to avoid Interstate 95 in Volusia County near Port Orange Wednsday morning as troopers investigate two separate accidents -- including a fatality.
The southbound lanes of the highway will be closed until around noon as work crews clean up a fuel spill caused by a fiery collision between two tractor trailer rigs near mile marker 253.
The accident occurred around 12:30 a.m., leaving the trucks blocking both southbound lanes. The drivers were unhurt.
A second crash occurred about three miles north of the truck collision around 6 a.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported a fatality in the crash near mile marker 256 in the southbound lanes.
