There clearly is some history between the two. The judge was not acting in a professional manner in his capacity as a judge. He escalated the situation with the comment about throwing a rock, and then swearing, using foul language, and ultimately calling the attorney out is without a doubt behavior unbecoming a judge.

He should be removed from his position.

Of course the pubic defender should have not moved to engage in the scuffle either. He was there to represent his client, not to engage in fisticuffs with the judge.

They are both a couple of idiots, and proof that our legal system is in very bad shape.

if the defendant were me, i would have turned to the jury box and said something like...

"and i thought you were thinking that i did something bad"....

The Judge took a LOA (Leave Of Absence) to seek Anger Management counseling.
