Frito-lay Semi overturned on US 98 in FL.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 2:45 p.m. near Sandmore Shores Drive in Wynnhaven Beach when an eastbound 2009 Chevrolet Colorado driven 54-year-old Timothy Marks changed from the inside to outside lane. That forced a 2013 Peterbilt semi traveling in the outside lane to swerve onto the south shoulder to avoid a collision.
Would it not have made more sense to have just connected with the errant lane changing vehicle? Sure the road traffic would have suffered on ONE side yet all vehicles would most likely have remained UPRIGHT Yes?
Another SOLUTION might have been worked through if the Lays "driver" had simply SLOWED DOWN a bit to allow the 4 wheeler "driver" to proceed, but obviously such wasn't considered in this ME FIRST society.

The semi struck a 2000 Chevrolet Venture and a personal watercraft that were parked in a driveway, the FHP said in a press release. The semi’s driver, 38-year-old Curtis Bush of Pensacola, then tried to steer the semi back onto the pavement but overcorrected and caused the trailer to overturn onto its right side. The semi ended up blocking both eastbound lanes and the inside westbound lane of U.S. 98, the FHP reported.
Seems to have been the INCORRECT CHOICE as damages escalated by choosing to AVOID the vehicle that CAUSED the problem.
