The Bikes I recall had a wide rear Slick Tire and skinny (like the picture) on front.
Them bikes were a gasser and in essence we played with our knobs when we weren't reading MAD or CAR TUNES or Playboy.
 

Years ago a friend had a classic pickup stolen. It was reported stolen & the police said they had no reports of a recovery. He looked for several days with no success. Finally a friend found it in a police impound lot. While he was looking at it a tow truck driver came by & said a policeman had noticed it had a fresh engine & was going to buy it at the next auction. The tow truck driver said some policemen don't report a vehicle as found because they want it for themselves & can buy it at auction. The owner had to pay a tow bill plus several weeks storage.
Thankfully most police officers are honest & don't resort to dishonesty to get a classic ride.

I'm looking at that, didn't the real McCoy have a spring up on the front of the handlebars? It's a blur in that pic but it doesn't look like the spring.
