About time. How about being fingerprinted every 5 years? What a croc.Do they think a terrorist gives a damn about a hazmat endorsement. http://www.ky3.com/content/news/US-...n-for-truckers-train-engineers-439203913.html
If the companies were worried about fatigue they would stop trying to work everyone 12-14 hours a day.
True, but look at how many road drivers fight to get the longest runs. They never seem to realize that after 8 hours they're working cheap (mileage pay, no overtime).
On the other hand, the trucking companies would never want the government to limit drivers to 8-10 hours a day total, because then they would really have to pay higher wages and benefits....
And the driver shortage would be so bad our wonderful government whom we all love and trust ,would all of a sudden deem it safe for us to drive 14 hours a day.
P&D can get you 12 hours in 80 miles round trip.9 or 10 deliveries and 7 or 8 pick ups or even less. Sometimes a pickup or delivery can take a couple of hours, especially sort and seg at grocery warehouses.
