In Land of Lincoln, pension fix isn’t what it’s cracked up to be

In Land of Lincoln, pension fix isn't what it's cracked up to be « Watchdog.org

Illinois kicked the can down the road once again with the recent passage of a so called pension deal. The unions hate the deal and it is unconstitutional according to the state constitution so in the future with lawsuits it most likely will be overturned. They will be right back to the start , but the governor most likely will get reflected since he has a D infront of his name... Illinois is looking more and more like Detroit when it comes to its fiscal health .

In my state, we have a huge Meth problem in some areas. So some communities have passed a ban on the sale of a popular base component required for the manufacturing of Meth. This base component was sold over the counter, but now some communities have made it by "prescription only". So recently the state stepped in and said that these communities are in violation of state laws by banning this as an OTC sale, even though there is statistical proof from some of these cities that changed it to "perscription only", that show a drop in Meth manufacturing and the crime rate has dropped along with it.
I thought that we had a "war on drugs" in this Country? So why would a state step in and interfere with "the war"?

In my opinion, it's because of lobbyists being involved. The pharmaceutical companies that make this drug are lobbying to keep it as a OTC item, which will boost their sales. And the state legislators are getting their pocket lined from this pharmaceutical company if they will continue to call any restrictions on it's sales a violation of state policy.

It's no wonder we are losing the war on drugs.

    Lobbyists suck.
